This was my 9th book from Kasie West, which is a fun coincidence because this story includes 9 events Sophie attends that affect her friendships, family and love life Like the majority of Kasie West s books, this was a page turner This author is great with banter Even if you don t particularly like the characters, the conversations between them are entertaining and very realistic I ve said this I don t know how many times before, and I ll say it again because it s true and rare Kasie West understands what it s like to be a teenager Unfortunately, in this case, it seems as though she forgot what teenagers like to read about.Teenagers don t enjoy stories with protagonists that have mainly tense relationships with most of the people in their lives I understand that she wanted there to be a development, especially when it comes to Andrew Hart, but it was disappointing to see Sophie avoid important conversations with her family members and friends I did, however, like Sophie s relationship with her younger brother as well as her personal ambition She wants to go to design school and even if people try to convince her to stay in her small town, she believes in herself and thinks positive thoughts about her future as much as possible It would have been cool if there had been images of Sophie s designs for sure. This isn t a story that will make you believe in ever lasting love, but it is an interesting idea that I m happy Kasie West developed It could have been better smile worthy but it s an entertaining summer read anyways.Blog Youtube Twitter Instagram Google Bloglovin

Me doesn t give 5 stars often because picky My lizard brain Book cute and have flowers Give 5 starsMe Ok Maybe This Time is about a girl named Sophie who works for the local florist, attending events and arranging bouquets At a valentine s event she meets Andrew son a famous new chef in town and required at all the events Sophie has to be at They have a rough first meeting and Sophie thinks he is arrogant and entitled and Andrew thinks she s a snob At every event throughout the year, they keep getting in each other s way until eventually, they end up becoming friends and then maybe something .After P.S I Like You became my number 1 Kasie book, I didn t think another one would dethrone it so soon but here we are This book was just everything I wanted and everything I needed right now It has the classic Kasie West wholesomeness and just all around cute but without being shallow or childish I don t mind high school romances but this one not taking place in high school was really nice. This entire book is told from event to event in snapshots and I loved that so much Instead of getting filler, it gets right to the good stuff Also I was weirdly into seeing all the different events and how they were run behind the scenes don t me This relationship is hate to love and watching them become friends slowly into romance was pure Plus so freaking adorable They only see each other during the events so all the development between them happens purely at the events, throughout the entire year They were honestly just so good together and I really loved them, even especially when they were bitching at each other.Sophie s friend Micah has a large part in this too and I loved their strong friendship that had drama but it was actual necessary drama and not some petty pointless drama Sophie s relationship with her family was pretty complicated too While everything is fluffy and cute, some serious topics are still put into play but I like how it doesn t go too hard, just hard enough.Plus FLOWERS So many flowers Love that I m so glad that I loved this one because I was worried after I wasn t the hugest fan of her last book but Kasie West has yet again blown me away with the cuteness.Highly recommend this great romcom.

Full Review on The Candid Cover4.5 StarsMaybe This Time by Kasie West had been one of my most anticipated reads this summer as I love everything Kasie West writes I was not disappointed with this book and its concept of two characters falling for each other over the course of nine events Both Sophie and Andrew are likeable characters, and there is a prominent theme of the importance of family throughout the book I loved this one, and I can t wait to see what West writes next.As a longtime fan of Kasie West, I had very high hopes for her latest novel This book follows Sophie, who works for a florist, and Andrew, the son of a famous chef, as they get to know each other during the many events they both end up working I loved the idea of the book being told event by event, and it makes sense as the main characters really only see each other on these special occasions As well, the hate to love concept is one that I typically enjoy, and the author did a great job working in snappy dialogue and drama This book is absolutely adorable and the perfect read for the beach ENJOYABLE CHARACTERSBoth Sophie and Andrew are enjoyable characters, and I enjoyed how they interact Sophie is creative and has dreams of pursuing her love of fashion design She has a captivating voice, and I found her character to be realistic Andrew, on the other hand, comes across as arrogant, and not unlike his bossy celebrity chef father As we get to know him, however, he turns out to be thoughtful and kind I loved the engaging dialogue that West writes for them, and reading about their mishaps at formal events is equally entertaining STRONG FAMILY THEMEAs is typical with Kasie West, this book has a strong theme of family Sophie lives with her mom and brother after her dad left them She finds herself pushing her mother away and selfishly only caring about her problems without knowing her mom s side of the story and personal struggles However, amidst this family drama, Sophie is able to grow and learn that family and friends are the most important Gunnar, Sophie s little bother, is also so wholesome, and I enjoyed how their relationship is portrayed.Maybe This Time is a cute summer read that takes place over the course of nine different events I loved both the main characters as well as the side characters, and the theme of family adds meaning to the book I would definitely recommend this one, or any of Kasie West s books, to those looking for the perfect contemporary.

I m 10000% down for anything Kasie writes and I rarely read the synopsis I liked Sophie and Andrew and of course BFF Micah She s got a lot of heart and ambition and it was great to see her grow into her confidence Andrew was charming and unsure and Micah was just delightful Plot wise, I loved the idea that they only saw each other at events It was an interesting way for time to pass My main complaint is that I wanted sweetness between them Yes yes, the banter was still fun, but I m greedy Overall, it was a cute and fun story with characters who were easy to root for Huge thanks to Point for providing the arc free of charge

Every once in a while I see books set to come out months and months in the future with really bad ratings We are in January and this comes out in JULY I feel like if you don t work in the industry have a personal connection to the author and or editing publishing team, then you have no access to this book since ARCs haven t been printed yet to my understanding This is random, but I m sick of seeing this happen.

I didn t even care he tasted like heaven and I felt like I was floating on air Usually, with any Kasie West book, it s an instant love for me But this took me quite some time to get into and I felt as if I walked into the middle of a conversation This was sort of cute, just not my favorite of hers At times I felt that there wasn t much of a plot There was no lead way to what was happening, you just jump straight in head first The banter between the two lead characters wasn t as funny as her others I felt the pure hatred flow between the pages because it burned like a roaring fire I wasn t actually sure if Andrew and Sophie were going to get to that inevitable point like in almost every other contemporary novel It happened but it felt fake.I did love seeing the working side of being a caterer and florist It was interesting reading about all the things they go through to make everything perfect for your special day I also really enjoyed the growing of Sophie s family She was really easy to judge a situation before she knew all the facts but in the end, it brought her family closer together Maybe This Time wasn t my favorite but I didn t hate it We all know what to expect from contemporary novels but this one didn t have that heart eyed overflowing cuteness like all her others.
